Life in the UK Test is a standard test which you have to take if you are applying for British Citizenship. The test is basically based on some simple questions regarding life in the UK and is structured to test your knowledge of English way of life and also to determine your level of proficiency in English. The sole objective of this test is to help you familiarize yourself with everything that’s English – such as the food, the government, the public, the places etc.
Listed below are some basic facts about Life in the UK test in 2011 which you might find useful:
- You will be given an option to choose centre of your own choice where you wish to take the test. Note that in total there is 65 test centres all across the United Kingdom. You can choose the one that’s closest to your place of residence.
- In order to pass the test successfully, you must answer at least 75% of the questions correctly. Note that there is no negative marking for the questions that have been answered wrongly.
- The test lasts for about 45 minutes and there is 24 questions in total. Note that the candidate is required to answer ALL of those 24 questions within 45 minutes. Simply put, in order to pass the test you must answer 18 out of the given 24 questions.
- The cost of taking the test is about £34 – very affordable indeed.
- The average percentage of candidates who are able to pass the test ranges between 70%-71%.
